Strawberry Lemonade Mojito Basket

My sister and I were thinking of a basket to be a part of the “prizes” for a Baby Shower.  This basket will be one of many baskets that’s a prize for this shower, I will show you some of the others on a later post.

My Sister and I were thinking what would be good for women of all ages and stages of their lives?  After putting a lot of thought into it, my sister came up with the brilliant idea of incorporating alcohol into this basket.   Yes, that’s it!  We wanted to make the alcohol basket festive, fun, and fruity!  So, we came up with a great drink, a Mojito, and went from there in making it fruity.  After looking at my go-to place on Pinterest, I found this great recipe from Five Heart Home for the Strawberry Lemonade Mojito’s!  What is fantastic about this recipe is that you can also eliminate the alcohol and make it, as Samantha, (from Five Heart Home,) put’s it, a “Faux-ito”!  Which is great for children, (or adults), that would also like to try it, but with no alcohol!!

Here’s what we put in this Strawberry Lemonade Mojito Basket for some lucky winner:

  1.   Gold Rum
  2.   Carafe with Mint Simple Syrup
  3.   Seltzer
  4.   Fresh Mint Plant
  5.   8 Large Strawberries
  6.   4 Large Lemons
  7.   Wooden Spoon
  8.   Strawberry Lemonade Mojito recipe

We decided to make the Mint Simple Syrup for the receiver so that they wouldn’t have to take more time in putting their Mojito’s together!  Doesn’t this sound like a prize you would like to win??!  I know I sure would!

I have to apologize because the picture of this basket doesn’t do it justice.  I should have taken the picture without the tulle first, so you can see what it looked like inside.  I placed a red tissue paper partially around the lemons and a yellow tissue paper partially around the strawberries.  But first, I cut a sandwich plastic bag in half, (all around the seam), and had the strawberry sit in that before I had it sit in the tissue.  I didn’t want it to get the tissue paper stained in the travel.  After strategically placing all the items in the basket, I wrapped it up in tulle.  You can see the instructions for How to Wrap Up a Gift Basket here.  This is a wonderful basket for you to consider giving to someone.  Or just go ahead and make the Strawberry Lemonade Mojito’s or Faux-ito’s for yourself!  You’ll be glad you did either way!!

Glad you stopped by and enjoy your week ahead!
