Along with my Mom, Sister and Sisters-in-law, each of us made a basket to be a prize at a Baby Shower. I couldn’t think of what to do until I saw my Hostess/Herb Basket and decided to incorporate that into this Herb and Wine Pairing Basket.
After looking into pairing a wine with a herb, I found out what wine went well with what herb. You can go to the Herbs and Wine Pairing Guide here that I went to, to find that out. After that, I chose the following items to go into my basket:
- Green Wooden Herb Box – like the one in my Giving a Hostess a Gift post
- Fresh Cilantro
- Fresh Basil
- A Bottle of Chianti
- A Bottle of Pinot Grigio
- A Recipe to use the fresh basil in Garlic Herb Tomato Goat Cheese Dip (from the Cookie Rookie)
- A Recipe to use the fresh cilantro in Smokey Southwest Cheese Dip (also from the Cookie Rookie)
- Herb Scissors
I added the recipes because I love to have a good dip with my wine! I don’t know about you, but, doesn’t it just make the wine taste better?? I also added the scissors because it makes cutting the herbs much easier. Once I got started on knowing what theme I wanted to do for this “winner” basket, it was easy deciding what I wanted to put into it. After I positioned everything in the basket, I wrapped it up in green tulle. To see how I wrapped up my basket, you can go to my How to Wrap up a Gift Basket post. You too can do this basket as a gift for someone, just add or delete items so it would be within your budget. Here are the other baskets my Mom, Sister and Sister-in-law gave:
I hope whoever won any of these baskets enjoys it as much as I enjoyed putting them together!
